すごく風が強い。

the visit for our trip was at the wrong time. weather was really bad. the fourth day of our travels, we were faced with nasty nasty weather. i'm not much of an indoor museum type of person. museums, no matter how interesting they are, they make me tired at the end of the day. 3 small size museums is the max for me. my brains will be fried by the end of the day. so on the fourth day we didn't stay indoors. so we were out there battling the crazy winds.

the winds were so strong that you'd stop in your tracks if not you'll just fall backwards.

anyway it was a friday. so we headed to the market for the waterlooplein flea market. much to our disappointment, most of the flea stalls were closed  because of the bad weather.

i remembered it was a friday because our host's boyfriend was trying to fool us that friday is the day where people eat herring fish. so we headed to a fish shop to get some fish.

i love all kinds of raw fish! yum yum. it takes quite awhile to acquire the taste of fish + onions + pickles. i ate thrice during my stay in holland. so now i really liked it. i can still remember the taste of it. yum. it's something that the locals eat. so eat some herring raw fish to go local!

after our snack, we walked around looking at cute holland lop ear rabbits, i realised i didn't take any photo of them i guess i was too excited over the cuteness. either that or it was too cold to take pictures. haha

so after exploring, we stopped at a heineken store. btw, heineken is from amsterdam. it basically sells everything a fan needs. they have heineken packaged in different prints for different occasion. we bought 3 graduation heineken for our friends in school, so that they could have a toast at the end of their graduation. haha.

passed by some "coffee shops". didn't have a chance to go in, i have to go in one the next time i go amsterdam!

then we walked and walked and walked. i really cannot remember where we walked or how to navigate myself around amsterdam at all. i don't even know the names of the popular places. i'm really lost, i don't really like it because i like to learn about a place, walking around with a map, knowing the names of each street. the other time i felt so lost was paris.

so we got ourselves into another tourist destination, the flower market. so many flowers......and weed.

yeah, perfectly legal.

here's some fake wooden tulips. because it's winter.

they sell candies and chocolates made of weeds in this shop. as well as the equipment needed. it's quite interesting to discover another whole new different culture so vastly different from the singaporean society. DEATH PENALTY loh!
