ho chi minh; myth cafe

we went to myth cafe! kevin went there earlier with some of his colleagues and decided to bring me along after his haircut.

lights hung on the trees was so romantic.

such a pretty place! & it was huge too! the whole area was alfresco and there was indoors as well. really love this cafe alot!

looks much slimmer and younger after his cut.

ordered coffee!

and i ordered some kind of juice. totally can't recall what kind of juice was it.

& the food was yummy, we had wanton, noodles, fried rice, bbq pork chops.

after dinner it was more chill and chat.

ho chi minh; pho hoa x cafe soi da

headed to pho hoa to try vietnam 'best' pho!

it was so packed and there's so many food i've never tried or seen before. it was so interesting that they left the meat wrapped in leaves and the dough sticks on the tables. after we finish eating, we have to say how many we have eaten and paid for it.

it was good! but kevin says that he had tried another one which was better.

after dinner we went to Cafe Soi da, i did some research and googled online so i had a couple of cafes to try out.

cafe soi da was one of the recommended one. it was inside a small corner along the main road.

there was a live band, but we decided to sit somewhere quieter and on the 2nd floor of the cafe.

i ordered some kind of Soi da coffee or something. it was some kind of special blend with alcohol~

mekong; around the river + coconut candies

after having fruits, we headed down to a jetty where we took a boat along the canals. it's a little bit like punting except that some of the boats had the motor installed so the farmers could have a break in between. had great fun!

at the end, we jumped on top our larger boat to an island where we saw how fresh coconut candies were made. it smelled really good. & the fresh ones are so chewy and warm!

they come in variety of flavours like durian and cocoa. i bought alot of them back.

enjoyed fresh water coconuts too! i learned during this trip that there's a difference between the types of coconut and what are they used for.

this sums up the end of my mekong day. we arrived back in ho chi minh district 1 at about 5pm or so. hence, i decided to go for a manicure to remove my gelish which i had done earlier for my bday. we then had dinner at a quaint cafe around the corner of the street. the shop had such a small stairway which reminded me of amsterdam.
